She Ended It

Well, as exciting as everything has been, I must breathe a sigh and tell you that I just got a phone call that she broke off the shidduch. Apparently all this was too much for her and even with the changes and the adjustments, she could not leave her old life behind.

She might just be very nervous and can "no longer take it." Wait a few days. Perhaps she will reconsider. I wish you all the best.

(And she won't have to change very much. And emphasize that the shirt thing was your stupidity and that she won't be making you less religious at all. I don't know what she's like now and before. But if she's really as great as you think she is, then hold on. Perhaps, there's hope.)

Also to keep in mind (not to negate what I wrote above): Not everyone likes to change their life very much. I, for instance hate change, and would hate to marry anyone who expects me to change. Therefore, although you two might get along great together, you might not be right for each other. Because ultimately, neither you nor she will be happy if they're not being themselves or if they're trying to act differently than who they are. Gotta run. Bye.

I'm sorry to hear it hasn't worked out. It is always difficult to know if the shidduch is the right one, but at least this time its out of your hands. You know you did all you could.
Don't change the essence of who you are though. Be true to yourself. Although you may need to comprimise sometimes. Be strong in what you believe in.
